La Ola: An Endless Runner Typing Game!
Type words as fast as you can and try to get a leaderboard high score!
Press the keys matching the letters on the signs held up by the crowd to move the Mexican wave - remember to press space between words when your reach a gap!
You may encounter sleeping people in the crowd - do your best and guess what letter they are holding, using the rest of the letters in the crowd!
Don't take too long typing, or you will lose!

Made in 30 days for GitHub Game Off 2025: "WAVES" [Link to Submission Page]. The game placed 9th overall, and 1st place in the "Theme Interpretation" category :)

In case you were wondering:
"La Ola" translates to "The Wave" in Spanish :)
The game generates the text using a Marcov Chain, which is similar to how predictive-text works on your phone. We adapted an old public-domain sports broadcast as our text source ⚾

Really amazing and addictive game with a simple premise that gets squeezed for all its worth, the presentation works well and the music is enjoyable enough (even though I can see it becoming grating to some). Its a real winner of a fun, short and replayable game, really hard to master, but i'll keep trying to get a better score!
Hi! I wanted to let you know that my score on the leaderboard was submitted kind of by mistake. After finishing my first legit run, the game asked me to enter my name and confirm the submission. Later, while testing some higher-level speeds using AutoHotkey just out of curiosity, the score was uploaded automatically without asking for confirmation even though i refreshed the page beforehand.
Could you please remove the cheated score from the leaderboard? Thank you and sorry in advance!
